LEAD San Diego

2010 INFLUENCE Program

A C-Level Executive Leadership Program

INFLUENCE San Diego is designed to provide CEOs and senior executives who are new to San Diego or to their leadership position an opportunity to quickly gain a comprehensive understanding of community issues and an appreciation for the way multiple sectors work together to make San Diego a sustainable region. LEAD seeks to instill a sense of social responsibility for those who will be leading our region. As an added benefit, INFLUENCE participants are able to enhance their professional network. This accelerated program spans three days in the spring and is often facilitated by San Diego’s elected officials and key leaders.


The Broad Residency in Urban Education

Cohort Group 2006-2008

The Broad Residency is a two-year intensive public education leadership program designed to prepare and place people with business, finance, legal and consulting backgrounds into full-time high-level managerial positions in public school districts, CMOs, and federal/state departments of education. While working, the residents receive two years of professional development, including eight quarterly sessions at locations across the country; analyzing case studies, making site visits, attending lectures, listening to expert panels, completing assignments and participating in interactive group projects.

One of three people recognized as a “Rising Star” in the magazine while Mr. Masias was the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer at San Diego Unified.


The Bond Buyer Magazine – 2009 Far West Deal of the Year

While the CFO at San Diego Unified Mr. Masias was instrumental in securing financing for the district’s special financing of $38.84 million general obligation QSCB election of Series 2008B tax-credit bonds.


National Society of Hispanic MBA’s 2005 Appreciation Award

In recognition of Mr. Masias’ outstanding service to the Denver Chapter of NSHMBA.
